The Aberlady Flock has three bits of exciting news to start 2026.

The Aberlady Flock has three bits of exciting news to start 2026.

One of the aims of the Aberlady Flock is to enhance biodiversity. Here you can see as we have moved a fence line the impact of grazing.

Join us for the Aberlady Community Flock open day on Saturday 11 October!

This is an exciting update as after several weeks of early mornings and late nights for volunteers we have now finished lambing for 2025.

It was great to welcome the P3 class from the village school to the field last week.

With the help of our fantastic volunteer vets we’ve been reviewing the health and condition of the sheep ahead of lambing.

The sheep are a new breed that is being developed near Hexham for conservation grazing and small scale regenerative agriculture.

The Aberlady Flock has now taken up residence in Coo Park and are beginning to settle into their new home. There are 6 sheep for the time being.

As some folk will already have noticed Coo Park (the field behind the gardens) has been preparing for the arrival of some sheep in the last few weeks.
