Aberlady Community Flock
Sheep grazing for biodiversity
In 2025, a new flock of sheep arrived in Aberlady to take up residence in the Coo Park (behind The Gardens).
The land is owned by Luffness Estate and the sheep graze it under a one year grazing licence.
This new community initiative is bringing sheep to the village. They’ll be improving the biodiversity of the Coo Park by grazing and providing a resource for the whole community and the school.
Throughout the year there will be news about meat and wool.
Are you interested in joining the project? We’re looking for individuals to help with a range of roles from getting hands-on with the sheep to species surveys and general administration.
We’d also be grateful for responsible access to the field.
